Havana Mania, We know one reason why his holiness the pope may have enjoyed visiting Cuba so much. Perhaps he dined on stuff like palomilla a la Criolla, boliche asado or pollo Saltado. Whatever the case, you‘ll be tempted to bless the chef for preparing Camarones ($8.95). Five good size shrimp in salsa Verde with delicious mild green chiles, garlic and cilantro. It has a bit too much salt, but mixing it with some of the accompanying fluffy white rice remedies the problem handily. Lechon Asado, lean pork tenderloin marinated in lemon juice and Cuban seasonings, with fresh onions and a separated bowl of black beans and white rice. Cost just $6.95. A knoll of fried bananas comes with both dishes. Most entrees run between $7 and $9 so for$1.95. You can start with a cup of soup or a green salad, with tomatoes and sweet onions without going over budget. A Big place that earns an A for cleanliness, it’s filled with booth and snappy piped-in music.
